Cristian Timmermann studied philosophy and political science at the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich and holds a PhD in Philosophy from Wageningen University (The Netherlands). He works as a political philosopher on issues related to life sciences and social justice, focussing both on theory and policy analysis. His research interests include poverty, meaningful work, public goods and science policy for agriculture, health care and climate mitigation and adaptation technologies, with regional expertise in Latin America and Europe. In the past he held research positions in Wageningen, Beersheva, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile and Ulm, with research stays at the Brocher Foundation, the Hastings Center, Rome, Salzburg, Brisbane, and Louvain-la-Neuve.
