Housing for Exchange Students

Most of the exchange students live in one of the five dormitories of the so-called ?Studierendenwerk¡° (student organization).

?

This is also the recommended option, because the dormitories are the most affordable and comfortable accommodation for exchange students in Augsburg. The apartements are furnished and monthly rents range from approximately 300?€?to 500?€ for a single apartment, which is usually cheaper than a room or an apartment on the private housing market.
?

As the dormitories are fairly popular, there are long waiting lists for the rooms.?Your advantage as exchange student: We have a number of dormitory apartments reserved just for exchange students.

Please note:

  • Apartments can only be rented for the?whole semester:?October to March (winter semester) / April to September (summer semester).
  • Moving in is possible from the?third workday?in October/April. An earlier moving-in date can not be guaranteed and is only possible in individual cases (when the previous tenant leaves very early).?

¡°I have been living in the G?ggingen Studentenwohnheim for two and a half years, and am so happy that my stay has been a good one. The price is not only very affordable for students, but it is within a short walking distance to the university and is surrounded by an Aldi, Marktkauf, dm, M¨¹ller, and a pharmacy. Not only are the students who live in this dorm very open and friendly, but, there are always activities to take part in like cooking and meeting at the dorm¡¯s Bierst¨¹be. I will miss living in the dormitory when I have to leave!¡±

¡°The Wohnheim Univiertel Augsburg is a super nice dormitory, only a few meters away from the university campus. The room is very comfortable for one person and the accommodation has a beautiful common backyard with a bbq zone. It?s perfect for spending some grilling time with the other residents in summer. I have met the nicest people in this dormitory. My stay here has been perfect.¡±

¡°The dormitory is at the perfect place to reach both the university and the city center. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The quarter is quiet and there is a Supermarket next to the dormitory. The only negative thing is that the bus station isn¡¯t very close (5 minutes walking). The price is among the highest ones, but the fact that you can walk home easily from the city without spending money for night busses and cabs is a good compromise.¡±

¡°I consider myself very lucky to be living in this dormitory. It¡¯s the newest and the most modern one. The tram station is just across the street and the university is just two tram stops away. The rooms are very comfortable and completely furnished. Every small building has a rooftop balcony and the bigger buildings have a raised patio. We also have a dormitory¡¯s social club/bar that opens every Wednesday evening and you can meet most of the students living there. The only negative aspects, in my opinion, are the distance to the city center and the price. I would gladly recommend it!¡±

"Lechbr¨¹cke is an amazing place to live. It has in my opinion the best view from the whole city. It's comfortable for one person and the people here are really nice. Both of the tutors are so welcoming and they do a lot of activities to integrate everybody. And the best part for exchange students, almost every weekend the party starts in the terrace.¡±
