Launch event of the Research Center of Innovation and Legal Studies between China and Europe (RICE)
(...) High-ranking guests included Prof. Dong Qi, Ambassador-Board Councillor of the People's Republic of China in Berlin, and Ms Feng Yiping, First Secretary of the Education Department of the Chinese Embassy.

After an introduction by Prof. Dr. Thomas M.J. M?llers, head of the research centre RICE, and a welcoming address by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. J?rg Neuner, Prof. Dong underlined the importance of Chinese-German relations in a speech. He emphasised the need for a comparative law research centre. In the course of the event, students were presented with certificates for their successful participation in the course "Introduction to Chinese Law".

The research centre RICE sees itself as a link between German, European and Chinese law and practice. It focuses in particular on comparative law between the two countries and issues of law enforcement as well as the rule of law in Europe and China. RICE is supported by several high-ranking universities as well as by the Department of Education of the Chinese Embassy in Germany.
