Session at EGU 2025
Next year, we will once again be represented at the largest and most important event in the European geosciences. From 27 April to 2 May 2025, the EGU conference will take place in Vienna and we will be chairing our own session on ‘Climate, Extremes, and Health: Mapping Risks and Quantifying Impacts on Population Health’. Abstracts can be submitted until 15 January 2025 and we are looking forward to a large number of exciting contributions. Click here to register!
One Health Podcast: Klimawandel und Gesundheit
In this episode, Prof. Elke Hertig from the University of Augsburg explains how the effects of global climate change on human health can be researched. She gives an insight into her research projects, which deal with infectious diseases transmitted by mosquitoes as well as the effects of weather extremes, air pollutants or UV radiation on the health status of people. Why it is worth looking at the effects locally and how we need to set up our healthcare system in order to be able to deal with the effects of climate change in the long term are topics in this podcast episode.
Basic medical training on climate change and health
The AdaptNet project has created a tool with the aim of promoting climate change adaptation in the German healthcare system and supporting private practices in adapting to climate change: The free online basic training course on climate change and health, which is accessible to everyone.
