Science Communication about and with Communicative Artificial Intelligence: Emotions, Engagement, Effects
Overview
?
Welcome to the "Science Communication about and with Communicative Artificial Intelligence: Emotions, Engagement, Effects" (Wiss-KKI) project. This three-year interdisciplinary initiative, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), aims to explore?how?communicative artificial intelligence (ComAI)?is changing?science communication.
?
Hosted at the University of Augsburg, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and the Technical University of Braunschweig, our project brings together experts from communication science and computer science to develop innovative tools and methods for?researching and enhancingpublic engagement with scientific knowledge.

Project Goals
?
Wiss-KKI?aims?to systematically investigate and harness the capabilities of communicative artificial intelligence (ComAI) to transform science communication, enhancing public engagement and understanding through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.
?
Scientific Goals:
- Conduct foundational research to understand the role of ComAI in science communication.
- Examine user practices, expectations, and emotional responses to ComAI-generated?scientific?content.
- Develop a CAI-based tool tailored for science communication.
- Enhance the interface between science and?the various?stakeholders, making scientific content more accessible and engaging to the public.
