University receives excellent rating in the WirtschaftsWoche business and economics ranking
The University of Augsburg belongs to the top 10 percent of places to study business and economics in Germany. According to the current WirtschaftsWoche ranking, the university is ranked 18th among German universities and 24th among universities in the D-A-CH region.

Measuring greenwashing in companies
When companies represent themselves as being more environmentally friendly than they actually are it damages society. Until now, it has been difficult to estimate the extent of greenwashing. Now, two researchers from the Centre for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg have developed a conceptual framework for a greenwashing risk indicator, which can be used to uncover cases of greenwashing more quickly. Their article has been published in the journal “Review of Managerial Science.”

Five researchers from the University of Augsburg are participating in the UN climate conference held in Dubai from the 30th of November to the 12th of December and will be available for media interviews.

Honorary doctorate for Theo Waigel
The Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Augsburg awarded an honorary doctorate (Dr. rer. pol. h. c.) to the former Federal Minister of Finance, Dr Theo Waigel, in a ceremony at the Augsburg Town Hall.

The effects of NFTs on the art market
Non-fungible tokens are based on blockchain technology known from cryptocurrencies. NFTs create a ‘proof of authenticity’ for digital works and confirm personal ownership of them, which is what makes it possible to trade virtual images. Twain Stolz, an art historian and economist, is researching the effects of NFTs on the art market.

European Health Economics Workshop
The 22nd European Health Economics Workshop (EHEW) takes place at the University of Augsburg on May 11-12, 2023. The EHEW focuses primarily on the discussion of microeconomic models applied to health economics, with a strong emphasis on applications of industrial organization, contract theory, insurance economics, and public economics. Submissions of empirical and experimental papers making substantial use of a theoretical model will also be considered.

Feigning cheerfulness doesn't have to be bad for business
A study by the University of Augsburg, Germany and Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia has shown that the use of a fake smile by salesclerks does not neccesarily have to result in diminished success. The results published in the journal?Psychology & Marketing show that the customers’ number of choices is an importat factor in these findings.

Nobel Class for Honorary Doctor Prof. David Audretsch
The University and the Faculty of Business and Economics congratulate their honorary doctor Prof. David Audretsch, Ph.D., on being named a Citation Laureate? by the Institute for Scientific Information. Since 2002, the Institute has annually named the most influential researchers in the disciplines of medicine, physics, chemistry and economics from the more than 52 million articles indexed in the Web of Science since 1970.

Business administration research at the Faculty of Business and Economics is in the top group once again
In the report “Centers of excellence - these universities have the best researchers in business administration” published by the German business magazine, Wirtschaftswoche (December 4, 2020), the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Augsburg is ranked 15th in Germany and 23rd in German-speaking countries (approx. 200 institutions; previous year ranked 25th).

CHE Master's Ranking 2020
In the recently published CHE Master’s Rankings, the Master’s degree program in Business Administration of the Faculty of Business and Economics scores very well. The students rate the criteria “Transition to Master’s degree”, “Study organization” and “Support for studying abroad” with “very good”.
