Family friendly workplace
The University of Augsburg signed the “Familie in der Hochschule” charter in 2014. The Family Service is the central point of contact for topics related to combining work and family. Family friendly services include a childcare centre as well as childcare for children during the holiday period. Non-academic employees can also make use of flexitime. The university also supports partial working from home in positions where this is suitable in consultation with managers.
Free further education and training opportunities
If you want to acquire a new professional qualification, brush up on your second-language skills, or develop your IT skills, you can make use of the wide range of further education and training opportunities offered by the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL). Further training at a variety of levels is also available for employees in academic roles.
VBL pension scheme and other benefits
In addition to statutory pension insurance, you can also benefit from VBL pension insurance. Employees are also eligible for discount prices at the Mensa and other cafeterias on campus.
Health promotion and sport
The health of our employees is important to us. We offer of variety of ways in which employees can strengthen their mental and physical well-being at the workplace. We regularly organise health promoting activities such as a health day and employees can also make use of the services offered by university sport.

The spacious, tree-filled university campus not only looks beautiful but also invites you to relax and linger during work breaks. It also offers the opportunity for outdoor classes and helps promote biodiversity.
Close to public transport
Carparking areas are located in close walking distance to university buildings ensuring stress-free travel to work. There are also many bicycle parking areas as well as e-bike charging stations located on campus. For those who prefer to leave the car at home, the tram stops “University” and “BBW/Institute for Physics” (line 3) are located within metres of the university. With a direct connection from Augsburg Central Station, you can reach the university campus in 16 minutes, with other train stations located in the immediate vicinity of the university.
